+ the 225 richest individuals have wealth that totals the total annual income of the poorest 47 per cent of the world's population
+ the assets of the three richest people in the world are greater than the combined assets of the 49 less-developed countries
+ the consumption rate of the richest 20 per cent of countries is 16 times that of the poorest 20 per cent
+ in Canada the average life expectancy is just over 79 years; in Sierra Leone it is just under 35 years
+ Wal-Mart, ExxonMobile, Ford Motor and DaimlerChrysler rank 25th to 28th respectively on the world's national economies comparison as measured by GDP with corporate sales figures, all with annual sales greater than Poland, Norway and Indonesia's GDPs, which rank 29th to 31st
